I am very excited to be back at West Nyack this year! I had an exciting summer! I got married :) For all my friends that know me as Miss Kiernan, it will be an adjustment for all of us!
One of my favorite things to do is read! I love reading books, magazines, and newspapers. I love reading all different genres of books from mysteries to poetry to biographies. Along with adult books, I also enjoy reading picture books and young adult books to enjoy stories written by many authors. Some of my favorite children's authors are Eric Carle, Jan Brett, Cynthia Rylant and Patricia Polacco. Other authors I enjoy reading are Kate Chopin, Nicholas Sparks, Emily Giffin and Jodi Picoult.
When I am not teaching I love being outdoors! In the nice weather I like kayaking, biking, hiking and playing sports.
I also enjoy spending time with my family. I have two older brothers who are also teachers. They teach High School Social Studies. We enjoy golfing and going to sports games. My mother and I like going to see Broadway shows in New York City.
I can't wait to meet and learn more about all of you!

Welcome back everyone! I am thrilled to be back at West Nyack for the 2015-2016 school year as a Literacy Specialist. I expect this to be an exciting year with a new group of amazing students to get to know!
Reading and writing have been two of my favorite hobbies since I was young. I love reading mystery and fantasy novels most of all. Ask me anything about Harry Potter...I'm an expert! My favorite book of all time though is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. I still read it often, even as an adult.
Besides reading and writing, I like to do puzzles and play board games like Scattergories and Scrabble. I also love to watch sports like baseball (go Mets!) and football. A goal of mine is to visit all of the baseball stadiums in the United States. I'm up to 11!
My family is very important to me. I have three brothers, one sister, and one dog named Winston! It's always a good time when we are together.
I hope you are all as excited about this new school year as I am. Good luck!
